Northern Sky is a festival of music and art. It’s a get together. It’s a picnic. It’s an outdoor art gallery. And it’s all happening at scenic Oyster Bay Farm, ten miles west of downtown Olympia. Music will be played on two stages - a pasture stage with a backdrop of sky and sea and a small, woodland stage in a fir grove. Art installations will dot the forest trail and hands-on art-making will take place.

When is it?

The 2026 festival takes place on Saturday, September 12 from noon to 10 pm.

Where is it?

Oyster Bay Farm is at 4931 Oyster Bay Road NW. This is a very special place, a forever farm, and it is stewarded by gracious and generous farmers and artists. We value and celebrate this land, its history, its original inhabitants and its setting near the waters of the Salish Sea.

Where do I get tickets?

Online ticket sales have ended. A limited number of tickets will be available at the festival entry gate. Doors open at 12 pm on Saturday, September 12. Youth under 15 are free to attend when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

Are there any house rules to observe?

*Please park in the designated area only.

*Please do not bring dogs to the farm or leave them in your vehicle.

*No flames, fires, or fireworks. A burn ban will be in effect and the grass might be very dry by summer’s end. Smoking is permitted in an area near the food vendors.

*Some areas of the farm will be off-limits, including the waterside. Please observe the posted signs. Maps at the ticket table will illustrate the areas we will be sharing together

Can I bring my own food?

Yes. Picnics are encouraged (especially if you have specific dietary requirements.) There will also be food for sale from vendors but there will be no alcohol sales at Northern Sky. Please bring your own water bottles and stay hydrated.

What else should I bring?

The weather can be capricious in Olympia at this time of year. Layer up and bring rain gear just in case. Maybe it will be hot sunshine and we can all laugh about being over-packed. Bring a blank t-shirt to screenprint your own festival swag!

What about the Art part of this music and art festival?

There will be site-specific art installations nestled along the woodland trail and art-making activities for all ages. You can print your own festival poster! You might get inky and/or painty! Dress accordingly! And be sure to bring a blank t-shirt to screenprint your own festival shirt!
